Spam

Unsolicited, often bulk-sent messages, typically advertising, scams, or malware, sent through email or other communication channels.

Spam refers to unsolicited messages, usually sent in bulk, that clutter inboxes with unwanted advertising, scams, or malicious links. While much spam is simply annoying, a significant portion is used to deliver phishing attempts, malware, or fraud schemes to as many recipients as possible.

Modern email providers use spam filters that analyze sender reputation, content patterns, and user reports to automatically move spam out of the inbox. Even with strong filtering, some spam gets through, so recognizing common warning signs remains an important personal defense.
