1. Purpose and nature of the content
All guides, blog posts, news, and glossary entries on this site are provided for general informational and awareness purposes only. They do not replace professional security, legal, financial, or technical advice. Before making decisions specific to your organization or personal situation, we recommend consulting a qualified professional.
2. Limitation of liability
We take care to keep content accurate, current, and useful, but we make no guarantee that it is error-free or uninterrupted. We are not liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from the use, or inability to use, the information on this site.
3. Intellectual property and use of content
Unless stated otherwise, original content on this site belongs to us. You may share our content for personal or educational purposes with attribution (a link back). Unauthorized commercial reproduction, republication, or modification of our content is not permitted.
4. External links
This site may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or security of those sites.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use this site for any unlawful purpose, in a way that disrupts how it operates, or in a way that infringes on the rights of others.
6. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always published on this page.
Privacy Policy
We take your privacy seriously and aim to minimize the personal data we collect.
1. Data we process
- Server logs: Standard access logs (such as IP address↗, browser type, and visit time) may be temporarily retained for security and technical operation.
- Anonymous page views: We keep anonymous counters to understand how much content is read; this data is not linked to an individual. The visitor identifier used for this is a hash that changes every day and cannot be reversed to an IP address.
- Search queries: Terms you enter in on-site search are processed to produce results and are not matched to your identity.
- Feedback: If you use the "Was this helpful?" widget, we store your response (and an optional comment) without linking it to your identity.
- Newsletter: If you subscribe, we store your email address solely to send the updates you signed up for. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email.
2. Cookies
Only essential/session cookies are used for the site's core functionality. If enabled by the site operator, analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Yandex Metrica, or Microsoft Clarity may be used to measure visits; these tools may set their own cookies.
3. Third-party services
Fonts may be loaded from Google Fonts. These services are subject to their own privacy policies.
4. Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. Data may only be disclosed to authorities where required by law.
5. Your rights
Depending on applicable data protection law in your jurisdiction, you may have the right to know what data is processed about you, request corrections, or request deletion.

SecAIQ Watch for Android
This section covers the SecAIQ Watch app for Android (package secaiq.watch). Effective 8 October 2026. SecAIQ Watch works entirely on your device: we do not run a server for the app, and the app has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
1. What the app reads on your phone
To do its job, and only on the device, the app reads:
- Installed apps: names, versions, installer, signing certificate and the permissions they request or hold (Android permission
QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES). - Strong access: which apps have Accessibility, notification access, keyboard, default assistant, device admin or "display over other apps" access.
- Device settings: screen lock status, security patch↗ date, USB debugging and Private DNS mode.
- Usage access (only if you grant it): how long apps were used, when they were last opened and how much network data each app used, from Android's usage and network statistics, without any content.
- DNS monitor (only if you turn it on): the names of addresses that apps look up (for example
chatgpt.com), which app looked them up, and when the microphone or a camera switched on together with the app that was on screen at that moment.
The app never reads messages, files, chats, photos, what you type, or the content of network traffic.
2. Where the data stays
Everything the app records is stored in its private storage on your phone. It is excluded from cloud backup↗ and device-to-device transfer, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data. You can also clear the network history in the app. Live lookups are kept in memory only.
3. The DNS monitor
Android shows the DNS monitor as a VPN. It is local: only DNS lookups pass through the app, app traffic is not routed through it, and nothing is sent to us. Each lookup is forwarded to the DNS server of the network you are connected to, as your phone would do without the monitor. Blocked lookups are answered on the device with "not found". The monitor runs only when you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time in the app or in Android's VPN settings.
4. Sharing
We do not collect, sell or share any data from the app. Reports (HTML, Markdown, CSV, AI-BOM) are created on your phone and leave it only if you send them yourself through the Android share sheet.
5. Notifications and app lock
Alerts and the weekly summary are local notifications created on the phone. The optional app lock uses Android's own fingerprint, face or screen-lock prompt; the app never sees your biometric data.
6. Children
SecAIQ Watch is a security tool for users aged 16 and over and is not directed at children under 13.

SecAIQ app for Android and iOS
This section covers the SecAIQ learning app (Android package secaiq.app, and the iOS version with the same features). Effective 8 October 2026. The app has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
1. What the app downloads
The app downloads the public guides, glossary, news and tool texts of secaiq.com and keeps a copy on your phone so it works offline. These requests carry no account, advertising or device identifiers. As with any visit to the website, our server may briefly keep standard access logs (see "Server logs" above).
2. What stays on your phone
Your learning path, saved items, reading progress, tool answers and settings are stored only in the app's private storage. They are not sent to us, are excluded from cloud backup and are deleted when you uninstall the app. "Reset everything" in Settings removes them at any time.
3. Tools
The tools run on your phone and do not send what you type, paste or pick to us. Three tools contact a service only when you tap them:
- Password breach check: sends only the first 5 characters of the password's SHA-1 hash to Have I Been Pwned (api.pwnedpasswords.com), which answers with matching hashes (k-anonymity). The password itself never leaves the phone and is not saved.
- SSL/TLS↗ certificate checker: your phone connects to the domain you enter to read its certificate.
- Photo tools: read only the picture you choose through the system picker. Cleaned or masked copies are saved to your phone or shared only when you tap Save or Share.
4. Notifications
Alerts for new news and blog posts are optional and off by default. When you turn them on, your phone checks secaiq.com every few hours and creates the notification itself; nothing about you is sent.
5. Links and widget
Links to secaiq.com may open directly in the app. The home-screen widget shows the glossary term of the day from the copy already on your phone.
6. Children
The app is general security and AI-safety education for adults and teenagers and is not directed at children under 13.
