Doxxing

Doxxing↗ is the act of publicly revealing someone's private personal information, such as their real name, home address, phone number, or workplace, usually without their consent and often with the intent to harass, intimidate, or endanger them. The information is typically gathered from public records, social media, or data breaches and compiled into a single post.

Doxxing can escalate into real-world harm, including harassment campaigns or physical danger, which is why many platforms treat it as a serious policy violation. Limiting what personal information is publicly available online is the main defense against it.
